Highlights from ProductCon London 2025
Check out the top moments from an incredible day celebrating innovation in Product!
We were thrilled to welcome 2,000 product professionals to ProductCon London 2025 last week and have 10,000 more sign up to join us online. It was a full house, and the energy in the room was electric! Every session was packed with thought-provoking insights that reminded me just how vibrant our global product community truly is.
A huge thank you to everyone—attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers—who helped make this event a success. It was fantastic to see how much conversation the event sparked online in real time. We were honored to feature leaders from industry giants like Financial Times, Mastercard Gateway, IBM, Deliveroo, British Telecom, and more. From AI-driven product strategies to lessons from major mergers and insights into unlocking new verticals, we covered some of the most pressing topics shaping product leadership today.
If you couldn’t join us live, don’t worry! You can watch all the talks on our website.
Augmenting Your Product’s Value Proposition with AI
Debbie McMahon, CPO at Financial Times
Debbie McMahon opened the conference by sharing how the Financial Times tackled organizational inertia and harnessed AI to stay relevant in a fast-changing digital market. By integrating machine learning and data-driven insights into their core product experiences, the FT enhanced storytelling and boosted reader engagement. Debbie’s talk showed us that with the right mindset and framework, even legacy companies can become innovation powerhouses.
“There's a lot of stuff out there about the value AI can bring, the amount of money it can save or make in terms of numbers on a spreadsheet. Nobody's going to get excited about that. Okay, there's like one person in finance who’s excited about it. But other than that, I promise you, nobody will. You need to play to people's hearts. That's where change happens.”

The Future of Product in 2025
Carlos González De Villaumbrosia, Founder & CEO at Product School
In my talk, I dove into how AI, revenue ownership, and cost efficiency are redefining the roles of today’s product leaders. More and more, I see Chief Product Officers stepping into GM-level responsibilities—owning not just product strategy but also business impact. It’s an exciting (and challenging) time to be in product, and I encouraged attendees to embrace data-driven decision-making while staying laser-focused on customer value.
“The role of the CPO is evolving into that of a general manager. It’s not about changing the title—it’s about owning both top-line growth and cost efficiency to protect margins. That shift has tremendous implications for how we build products and teams."

Product Localization Playbooks for International Expansion
Vinay Ramani, CPO at Tide (Ex-Meta, Google, Uber)
Vinay Ramani gave a masterclass on successful international expansion, rooted in his experiences scaling Uber in India and China. He emphasized that localization is about more than translation at scale—it involves rethinking product features, user experiences, and team structures to meet diverse customer needs. Vinay’s practical strategies underlined the importance of balancing global consistency with on-the-ground innovation.
“Be open to market-first innovation. What looks crazy in headquarters probably makes sense in a specific market. You have to fight for crazy. Otherwise, you won't be competitive in that market.”

Product & Culture Integration After M&A
Pénélope Carlier, VP of Product at TIER Dott
Merging two companies isn’t just about integrating technologies—it’s about unifying people and cultures. Pénélope Carlier detailed how TIER Dott managed product and platform integration post-merger, keeping teams focused and motivated. By fostering transparent communication and practicing inclusive leadership, her team navigated a complex process while maintaining forward momentum.
"An integration can be seen as a task, or as an opportunity to build something new. Take the best of both worlds. You have a talented team—give your team direction and autonomy, and you’ll be surprised by what they can achieve."

Dismantling SAFe, Safely: Breaking Bureaucracy to Unlock True Agility
Simone Paul Tamussin, CPO at Mastercard Gateway
Simone Paul Tamussin gave an eye-opening talk on shedding cumbersome frameworks. He showed how Mastercard Gateway moved beyond SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) to embrace a more flexible, outcome-driven approach. By empowering teams and simplifying processes, Simone revealed how organizations can streamline product delivery, spark innovation, and adapt to market demands more quickly.
“Product managers were feeling that they were trapped in a never-ending cycle of going from one PI planning to the other. They were not able to do their product management work. They did not have time for strategy or talking to customers. If you don’t talk to your customers, how can you build the right features?"

Panel discussion: Partnering with AI Agents to Build Stronger Teams and Smarter Products
Moderator: Christine Itwaru, VP of Product at Beamer Userflow
Sally Fuller, Head of Mobility Products at British Telecom
Susanne Jones, Senior Partner & Customer Transformation Leader at IBM | MCMI ChMC
Sang Ha Park, AI Agent Workforce Leader at Sendbird
AI is rapidly changing how product teams operate, but what does that really look like in practice? This panel brought together leaders from IBM, BT, and Sendbird to delve into how AI agents are shaping product strategy, optimizing workflows, and enhancing decision-making. Their collective insights showed how integrating AI can drive efficiency, fuel innovation, and empower teams to deliver smarter products at scale. Christine did a fantastic job as moderator by bringing out everyone’s diverse perspectives.
"Some people say product managers won’t be needed in a few years because AI agents will take over. But I think our role is becoming even more important. AI has latent capabilities—it’s our job to figure them out, experiment, and bring them to product." — Sungha Park, Sendbird

His session was a must-watch for anyone looking to get started with AI or take it to the next level.

Don’t Leave Money on the Table: Optimizing Payments to Reduce Churn
Chetan Pandya, SVP of Product at DAZN
Chetan Pandya walked us through the importance of delivering a frictionless payment experience—and how it can make or break retention and revenue. By reducing failed transactions, implementing flexible payment methods, and leveraging data to understand customer behavior, DAZN transformed payments into a strategic growth driver. Attendees left with new insights into how the checkout flow can support long-term customer loyalty.
"If a payment fails, don’t give up. Retry every two days for up to 28 days. Simply doing this helped us recover 58% of failed transactions—saving millions in revenue that would have otherwise been lost."

Streamlining Product Operations for Category Expansion
Sam Hancock, VP of Product at Deliveroo
Deliveroo’s success story doesn’t stop at restaurants. Sam Hancock provided a behind-the-scenes look at how they expanded into grocery, retail, and beyond while maintaining an exceptional customer experience. He underscored the power of smart infrastructure when scaling into new verticals to pave the way for new growth opportunities.
“Set a really ambitious goal when you've identified something as one of your most critical priorities. I like to think of it as finding the intersection between ambition and credibility. Push for something big, but be realistic about your ability to achieve it.”
